Cranford PBA Shows Support for Holly Folgia

The Cranford PBA wanted to share a great moment between Officer Kelly Pellino and Holly Folgia, a 26-year Cranford resident, children’s author, cancer warrior, and cancer educator who is using her life’s battles to selflessly help others in need.

Officer Pellino and Holly met recently to show the PBA’s support in the fight for this cause. Holly, who was diagnosed in October 2024 with stage 4 ovarian cancer, has used her own personal diagnosis to give back to others.

During her treatment, Holly learned that there were significant cuts in funding for ovarian research and for cancer research and prevention overall.

She wanted to help—so, with her husband Jim by her side, they started The Rooted Foundation, dedicated to advancing ovarian and fallopian tube cancer research. Their goal is a “future where ovarian cancer no longer exists in women's lives.”

During this time, Holly also had a dream in the making come true: her first children’s book, I Hope You Know, was published. 100% of all proceeds from the purchase of this book go directly to The Rooted Foundation.

We’re grateful to the Cranford PBA for standing with Holly and helping shine a light on the mission. Together, we can make big impact with deep roots.
